急遽開催！追悼 フィル・アップチャーチ 特集
2025年11月23日に惜しくも他界したギタリスト、フィルアップチャーチの追悼特集を急遽開催中です！
デヴィッドTウォーカーやエリックゲイル、コーネルデュプリーらに並ぶ、黒人ジャズギター四天王の一人、フィルアップチャーチ。
1961年にシングル「You Can’t Sit Down」が100万枚以上を売り上げ大ヒットを記録しゴールドディスクを獲得、1960年代半ばにはChess Recordsのハウスギタリストとしてマディウォーターズやハウリンウルフらと共演、また1970年代以降はダニーハサウェイ、マイケルジャクソン、ジョージベンソン、チャカカーン、カーティスメイフィールド、クインシージョーンズ、テリーキャリアー等など…数々の歴史的名盤や大ヒットアルバムに貢献し、百戦錬磨の超一流セッションマンとしてその時代の音楽シーンを牽引しつつ、60年代後半から2000年代初頭までコンスタントにソロアルバムを発表し続けた。2025年11月23日にロサンゼルスにて84歳で死去。
